Vacation Mode: When The System Needs A Reboot

Every machine and server needs some downtime, so do we as human beings! 😉

I’ve been quiet on my blog lately, not because the ideas had run dry, but because it was time for a downtime. Time to recharge the inner system, which means: no work, no blog posts, no unnecessary things, and basically trying to empty my mind and enjoy the time with my daughters and family.

So, for this holiday, we rented a house in a beautiful place in the south of France called Saint-Cyprien. The house had a warm swimming pool, and 500 meters away from the beach. Accompanied by nice, sunny weather, this was a recipe for a lovely holiday.

We always drive to France, and this time was no different. I love driving as it really calms me down. Usually, I can turn off “Work Mode” quite easily but this Ihad a bit of difficulty doing so. However, as soon as we arrived, I could start relaxing.

During the holidays, we spent most of our time enjoying the swimming pool, beach, scenery, and went sightseeing and visited some old castles. The image on the header is from when we visited one of the old castles called Peyrepertuse which is located on top of a hill with an altitude of 800m. *Say hi to my fear of heights!*

The kids also loved the holiday, but if you would ask them what they enjoyed the most, they’d reply with karting! Ow man, they really loved driving the karts and going fast! *Perhaps it’s in their genes!* Haha! 😉

For me, it was awesome to have a moment of peace and reset. This didn’t mean that I forgot the gym and my exercises! No, I still went to the gym every day. Since I’m a member at Basic-Fit gym, I can use my subscription to enter all of their facilities within Europe. Luckily, there was a Basic-Fit gym in the area, which I visited daily.

On my blog, I talk about the fusion of tech and should – and taking a break is exactly that! A conscious pause to let the soul catch up with the speed of our thoughts! This is something which shouldn’t be forgotten at all!
