Back in August I followed the Azure Fundamentals training and in September I did the AZ-900 exam for it which I passed. So I earned a Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals badge. Yeeey!
Since the company is moving towards cloud and in specific to Azure, it was time for me to deep dive into Azure’s world. This is why I signed up for the Azure Administrator training of 4 days.
In case you’re wondering what an Azure Administrator does:
Azure Administrators manage the cloud services that span storage, networking, and compute cloud capabilities, with a deep understanding of each service across the full IT lifecycle. They take end-user requests for new cloud applications and make recommendations on services to use for optimal performance and scale, as well as provision, size, monitor and adjust as appropriate. This role requires communicating and coordinating with vendors. Azure Administrators use the Azure Portal and as they become more proficient they use PowerShell and the Command Line Interface.
So you see… There is a lot to cover and the training covered all of the above topics as well.
- Manage identities and governance in Azure
- Implement and manage storage in Azure
- Deploy and manage Azure compute resources
- Configure and manage virtual networks for Azure administrators
- Monitor and back up Azure resources
Today was the last day of the training and I must say it was fun, I learned a lot but damn… quite some information to absorb! There is a lot possible with Azure and I kinda start liking this.
My goal is to get the Azure Administrator Associate certification as well, but it’s definitely not going to be a bed of roses. It really requires more learning and doing labs. Luckily the labs from the training are still accessible for the some time so I get to redo the labs again, as well as some challenge labs, and also deep into the book.
Any how I have already booked the exam for it + I’ll follow a Exam prep session as well because I have the feeling that Microsoft is not going to make things very easy to get the AZ-104 certification. Wish me luck with studying! 😉
