Background

I started in System Administration but didn’t feel drawn to IT at the time—it seemed too “nerdy.” Instead, I pursued Media Management and began my career in Marketing before moving into Operations and eventually Purchasing. Yet, IT kept resurfacing, and overtime I became a “Purchasing & IT Representative.” That’s when I realized I actually loved IT.

When the company I was working for was acquired by a large international corporation, everything changed. Right in the middle of all the changes, there was an opportunity to dive fully into IT as a System Engineer. As of that moment, I’ve been knee-deep in networking; managing, configuring Cisco and Aruba switches, managing On-Prem and cloud servers, and being a Cyber Security Ambassador for our region.

After all those roles and years, I’ve returned to IT, where I began. It’s funny how life comes full circle. Yeah, I know, why the long journey to bring me here? I’m not sure, but it certainly feels right!

The Roots: From Portfolio to Blog!

This website actually started as an portfolio site called BioTeck.net, which began as a Media Management school project to showcase my skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Instead of a traditional offline portfolio, I choose to do things differnetly and went online with BioTeck.net: blending “Behrad,” “Bio” (Biography), and a playful “TecK” for tech, with .net domain symbolizing the internet. In addition to my roles in Marketing, Operations, Purchasing, and IT, I’ve designed many flyers, posters, and websites for various events and organizations. What can I say? A man of many talents! 😉

During the rise of blogging, somewhere arround 2007/2008, I integrated a blog section using one of WordPress’s first releases, and started to write content on IT, tech, and design till end of 2011. In 2012 my first daughter was borned and this is when I took a decade-long break. In October 2021 I resumed writing on EyeTeeBee.com (IT B).

ITB4X: A New Era…

Despite the success of EyeTeeBee.com, I’ve decided for a “fresh” start with ITB4X.com. As always there is a twist in the name and can be explained as: IT Behrad 4 Xploring, or, Integrate Technology & Being 4 Xpression or whatever you want it be. 😉

The essence of the blog however hasn’t changed; I’ll share everything from IT-related topics like cool Dockers, handy software, network infrastructure topics, smart home technology to personal topics close to my heart.

This transition was smooth and straightforward, but now comes the challenge of creating a new logo and updating the site. Maybe I should have started with the logo, draw the rest around it? Hmmmm… I’ll figure it out as we proceed!
